Web
Hosting Packages...continued
Email accounts - email is one of the most important
features of a web package. There are two types of email accounts
hosting companies offer, email aliases and pop email accounts. Email
aliases allow you to receive mail sent to anyname@yourdomainname.com.
However, this type of account only allows mail sent to anyname@yourdomainname.com to forward email
to be forwarded to another email address, their is no mailbox assigned to an email alias.
POP
email accounts on the other hand allow you to create anyname@yourdomainname.com
and have it routed to to a mail box set up to receive that email. The benefit
is that you can then set up that email account in your email client
and send email that appears to come from anyname@yourdomainname.com versus from you@earthlink.net
or you@msn.com etc., which is the only way allowed using email
aliases. Pop email accounts offer a great way to represent your business in a world where
email has replaced phone calls, letters and faxes. POP mail also
gives the impression that a one or two person operation is a corporation...imagine
having mail sent to accounting@somename.com, info@somename.com,
sales@somename.com and on and on.
Whether
your a one or two person operation or a large corporation, you need
enough email accounts for employees, departments and general information
responses.
Because
of spam, email accounts have become ever more important.
Ever
filled out a web application and suddenly your getting email
you never requested. Email addresses are
big business and yours may have been sold. Once your email address is sold you'll begin getting spammed, i.e. unsolicited email.
A workaround is to create one email address that you use to fill out contact forms on those
web sites, then use your email client to filter mail sent to that
address...a benefit of multiple email accounts.
Don't
settle for 3-5 POP accounts when Web Host Geeks provides a minimum
of 50 POP account and unlimited email aliases. Continue
